Nubra Valley is another picturesque destination known for its rolling sand dunes and the double-humped Bactrian camels. Diskit Monastery, with its towering Maitreya Buddha statue, is a prominent attraction in this valley. Nubra Valley is located to the north of Leh, the main town of Ladakh, and is accessible via the Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in the world. It is part of the union territory of Ladakh in India. The valley is characterized by a stark and dramatic landscape with barren mountains, rolling sand dunes, and the confluence of the Nubra and Shyok Rivers.
