Khardung La Pass, often referred to simply as Khardung La, is one of the highest motorable mountain passes in the world. It is located in the Ladakh region of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Khardung La Pass is situated at an elevation of approximately 5,359 meters (17,582 feet) above sea level. While it is often touted as the "highest motorable pass," there are other passes at similar altitudes, but Khardung La remains a popular destination for adventure seekers and motorbike enthusiasts. The pass is about 40 kilometers (25 miles) north of Leh, the capital of Ladakh. It lies on the road that connects Leh to the Nubra Valley, a stunning high-altitude desert region known for its unique landscapes.
